Shortening a chain sling leg shouldn't mean sacrificing working load limit. The Gunnebo GG Clevis Shortening Hook is engineered to prevent exactly that — its cradle (saddle) lugs on both sides support the chain under load, distributing force across the link rather than concentrating it at a single contact point. The result is precise chain length adjustment with no reduction in WLL and no risk of link deformation under load.

Clevis Pin Attachment. No Coupling Links Needed.

The GG's clevis pin design connects directly to Grade 100 or Grade 80 chain slings without requiring additional coupling links — simplifying assembly, reducing component count, and getting your sling configured faster. The hook is designed to slip over a specific chain link, not through it — an important operational distinction that must be observed to maintain safe working load capacity. Inserting the tip through a link is unsafe and must always be avoided.

Built from heavy-duty alloy steel to a 4:1 design factor and certified to EN 1677:2008 (+25% WLL), ASTM A952/A952M, and AS 3776:2015, the GG Clevis Shortening Hook meets the multi-standard compliance requirements of industrial, construction, and offshore lifting operations worldwide.
