When standard Grade 6 shackles aren't enough, the Crosby G-209A steps up. Forged from high-strength alloy steel, quenched and tempered to meet the full performance requirements of Grade 8 shackles, the G-209A delivers superior strength, ductility, and toughness for critical lifting, towing, and rigging applications where higher capacity and tighter material standards are non-negotiable. And like every genuine Crosby shackle, it carries the Red Pin® — your assurance that what you're holding is the real thing.
Going beyond ASME B30.26's baseline requirements for identification, ductility, design factor, proof load, and temperature, the G-209A also addresses impact properties and material traceability — performance criteria outside the standard's scope that matter enormously in offshore, marine, and high-specification lifting contracts. Built to a 5:1 design factor with a proof load of 2× WLL, it conforms to US Federal Specification RR-C-271H, Type IVA, Grade B, Class 2 and can be furnished proof tested with ABS, DNV, or Lloyd's certificates upon request. Hot-dip galvanized as standard (mechanically galvanized at 3/8"), rated from -40°C to +204°C, and permanently marked with WLL and Crosby name for full field traceability.
